Form, Function, and a Little Mountain Magic
Hi, I’m Skylark—a ceramicist working in small batches from my studio in the mountains just outside Boulder, Colorado.
My work is rooted in both slipcasting and handbuilding, with a focus on creating forms that feel intentional, refined, and quietly expressive. With a background in UX and graphic design, I’ve always cared about how things function as much as how they look. That same mindset guides my ceramics: I aim to make pieces that are a joy to use and bring a sense of calm and beauty into everyday rituals.
I came to ceramics somewhat by accident—through a pottery date night I booked for my husband in early 2022. He enjoyed it. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. After years behind a screen, I realized how much I missed working with my hands, and how satisfying it was to see a design take shape in the real world.
Clay has become a kind of meditation for me—a way to slow down, pay attention, and connect more deeply with the process of making.
Thanks for being here.
